Op vrijdag 11 augustus is Latin in the Park terug in het Zuiderparktheater! Na een geweldige vorige editie met ruim 800 dansende bezoekers gaat de wereldreis in de Latijnse muziek verder naar het New York van de jaren ’70. Ook deze editie is meesterpercussionist Gerardo Rosales van de partij samen met zijn 12-koppige La Vintage Orchestra. Deze avond brengt een ode aan het iconische Fania Records: het platenlabel dat in de jaren ’70 de Salsarevolutie in New York ontketende. Kaartverkoop is in volle gang.

Over Fania Records
Fania Records wordt gezien als het boegbeeld van de Salsamuziek wereldwijd. Deze tribute avond staat in het teken van de legendarische artiesten van het label zoals Hector Lavoe, Celia Cruz, Willie Colon, Tito Puente en meer! De avonds start met een workshop Salsa on2, ook wel bekend als New York style, geleid door danseres Anne Elise Wouters. Daarna barst het feest los met Gerardo Rosales’ La Vintage Orchestra en DJ Phily!

Praktische informatie
Er zijn foodtrucks op het terrein, sfeervolle zithoekjes en natuurlijk ijskoude drankjes om mee af te koelen. Koop je tickets á €16,- p.p. Voor houders van een Ooiervaarspas is het €7,50. Het theatereiland in het Zuiderpark opent vanaf 18.00 uur. Ook op zaterdag 9 september staat een editie gepland.

Latin in the Park is back in the Zuiderparktheater on Friday 11 August! After a great previous edition with more than 800 dancing visitors, the world tour in Latin music continues to the New York of the 1970s. Master percussionist Gerardo Rosales will also be present this edition, together with his 12-piece La Vintage Orchestra. This evening pays tribute to the iconic Fania Records: the record label that unleashed the salsa revolution in New York in the 1970s. Ticket sales are in full swing.

About Fania Records
Fania Records is seen as the figurehead of Salsa music worldwide. This tribute night is dedicated to the label’s legendary artists such as Hector Lavoe, Celia Cruz, Willie Colon, Tito Puente and more! The evening starts with a Salsa on2 workshop, also known as New York style, led by dancer Anne Elise Wouters. Then the party starts with Gerardo Rosales’ La Vintage Orchestra and DJ Phily!

Practical information
There are food trucks on site, attractive seating areas and of course ice-cold drinks to cool off with. Buy your tickets for €16 per person. For holders of an Ooiervaarspas it is €7.50. The theater island in Zuiderpark opens at 6 p.m. An edition is also planned for Saturday 9 September.
