After previous successful editions, Latin in The Park travels on 8 August to Brazil, the land of colour, rhythm and zest for life. During this vibrant evening, immerse yourself in the enchanting world of samba, where music, dance and culture come together in the open air of the Zuiderpark Theatre.
The evening starts with an energetic Samba no Pé workshop by Julinha Solis, a versatile dancer active in both the Netherlands and Brazil. Whether you are dancing samba for the first time or already experienced, Julinha knows how to get everyone moving with her enthusiastic style and infectious energy.
Afterwards, Roda da Holanda takes the stage. This leading Dutch samba formation will thrill the audience with an authentic repertoire of Brazilian greats such as Beth Carvalho, Alcione, Leci Brandão, Arlindo Cruz and Jorge Ben Jor. Expect compelling rhythms, lively percussion and the warm atmosphere of a traditional 'roda de samba', straight from the heart of Rio de Janeiro.
The evening ends with a swinging afterparty by DJ Mano Fred, who will keep the dance floor packed until the late hours with his varied selection of classic and modern Brazilian tracks. Whether you sing along, sway along or just enjoy the atmosphere, this summer evening will feel like a mini-vacation to Brazil.
With atmospheric seating, cooling drinks and a large dance floor on stage, this evening offers the perfect mix of relaxation and movement. The samba brings people together and makes everyone part of the party.
The open, summery setting of the Zuiderparktheater perfectly matches the joyful and connecting power of Brazilian samba. This evening is accessible, inviting and focused on encounters, exactly how the Zuiderparktheater wants to bring culture: accessible, inspiring and in the middle of society. The combination of workshop, live music and dance creates a total experience where everyone feels welcome.
