British Sophie Ellis-Bextor rose to fame thanks to singing Spiller's hit single 'Groovejet' and her own worldwide hits 'Murder on the Dancefloor' (the most played song in 2002 in Europe) and 'Get Over You'. During the lockdown, Ellis-Bextor streamed 'Kitchen Disco's' via Instagram which were viewed by more than 40 million people worldwide. During Kitchen Disco's, she proved to be a true disco queen thanks to her renditions of big hits in disco version.
Her debut album Read My Lips (2001) sold over 2 million copies. In 2014, she decided to release her fifth studio album Wanderlust through her own EBGB's label, produced by British singer-songwriter Ed Harcourt. The album spent three weeks in the UK Top 10 and sold more than 100,000 copies.
Following Kitchen Disco live streams, she released her latest album 'Songs From The Kitchen Disco' on Cooking Vinyl in late 2020, combining Sophie's greatest hits with her successful lockdown Kitchen Disco songs. The album reached the album top 10 in the UK. Today, Sophie Ellis-Bextor is committed to a lot of good causes. For instance, she held a 24-hour disco dance marathon on 16 November 2021 to raise money for children in need. She also has her own podcast Spinning Plates where she talks to hardworking mothers about how they get it all done.
