Art Projects 2025 - all summer at the Holiday Park

For the first time this year, the South Park Theatre presents a summer exhibition in the public space. From interactive sculptures to playful installations for young and old - Art Projects 2025 marks the start of a new tradition. Each work tells a story and invites you to participate, marvel or simply relax in the park. Together with artists and partners, we are building a growing outdoor collection for years to come.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Fold&BuildLAB - Collective Paper Aesthetics

Building together a giant piece of paper art...

From 29 July, we will work together on Collective Paper Aesthetics - an international travelling project by artist Noa Haim. In the Fold & BuildLAB, you will fold large sheets into cubes that together form one huge sculpture. Parents should help too!

This summer, we will build under the direction of MuseumLab in Zuiderpark, and in autumn the project will grow at Theater aan het Spui during Festival de Betovering.
What first started in Kunstsilo Kulen (NO) and travelled to Canada and Australia is now in The Hague for the first time!

๐ŸŽง Russsthut with the composition 'Night creatures'

A wooden hut full of sounds of the night...

n collaboration with Rewire, a special sound composition by Evelien van den Broek will be heard in the hut this summer. She trekked through the park at night in search of mysterious nocturnal animals... or were they dream creatures?

KleiKlankenLab with Sara Pape, every Wednesday! Make your own silence guard out of clay. In the KleiKlankenLab, you sculpt an imaginative creature that protects the Russsthut from haste and noise.

Children shape their own guard with a fixed mould, and can take their creation home, pick it up later or donate it to the South Park Theatre. Through Makey Makey and Playtronica, the clay sculpture comes to life with sounds and music! Donated creatures will be baked, glazed and displayed in a mini-expo around the hut during the last week of the holiday park.

This beautiful wooden cottage, donated by Festival the Enchantment, will have a permanent place on our island.

Russsthut can be visited during the holiday park
KleiKlankenLab (6+): Wednesdays, 2 rounds per day (12:00 + 14:00) led by Sara Pape (Come on time! Full = Full)

๐Ÿ˜ Jenny the Elephant

A growing pink work of art full of litter

Do you already know Verloot je Zooitje? During the boat trip, you will discover litter in the water of the Zuiderpark. Everything we find we collect in pink bags and put in Jenny - a big elephant frame that slowly turns pink.

Jenny the Elephant was inspired by the work of Maria Koijck, and created especially for us by Hague artist Bas de Boer. On the Elephant Pond, you can see her growing.

โœจ Future

With Art Projects 2025, we are taking the first step towards a growing exhibition in public space, in the Zuiderpark. Every year, we hope to add new installations, making the Zuiderpark more and more the stage and studio for the city.
