On Saturday 10 August, young bands and songwriters from the region of The Hague had the chance to showcase themselves at the new festival Young Talent in the Park. The one-day festival was held at the Zuiderparktheater. A jury kept its eyes and ears open all day for the talent award. First place was convincingly won by Unstable Rosie and Teddy Mac, who managed to impress the jury with their performances. They were given the honour of opening the Hague Beat Festival on Sunday 11 August.
Babette Zwinkelsband and Lonneke finished in second place, they are performing for this at the Zwarte Ruiter on 13 November. The stage was followed by Sava; a very young band with an average age of 12 and Amber Pronk in third place. They will win a recording pre-production at Ready to Play studios.
The audience prize was shared by the duo Shayshay and Giulia, and Fever Dream, who both won the hearts of the audience. They played on the small stage of Haags Beat Festival. Ytim received an honourable mention by the jury for their exceptional efforts on social media, which contributed to the event's visibility and success. This band's stage presence also received much admiration from the jury.
During the festival, the STiCKFiGS also performed, and a Hague sing-along with Jan Rooymans was organised, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.Ready2Play, Podium aan Zee and Zuiderparktheater look back on a very successful first edition of Young Talent in the Park. Almost 500 visitors attended the unique afternoon. We thank all participants, jury members, and visitors for their contribution and enthusiasm.
