Yesterday, Saturday 18 May, the Zuiderparktheater opened its doors again. With a bang on the gong, Haag municipal councillor Saskia Bruines (culture) and board chairman Nachet Louchahi opened the 2024 season.
After its winter hibernation, the city's summer theatre is ready for another jam-packed season. Spread over almost 60 days, (inter)national musicians, bands, orchestras, circus performers and the hundreds of theatre volunteers will make it a top summer for everyone. What will be the highlight this year? Snacking on a story in a life-size chip tray, Tchaikovsky's Romeo & Juliet by the Residentie Orkest or enchanting sounds of Birdy at Zuiderpark Live?
"We are going to have a very nice programme this summer. From concerts at Zuiderpark Live, classical music and six weeks of free Holiday Park. This vibrant place can only be enjoyed by everyone through the efforts of the team and its volunteers. For which please give a big round of applause,'' said Alderman Bruines in her opening speech. Then The Waterboys started the opening concert.
