Holiday park halfway through; here's what to do in the coming weeks

After almost 3 weeks of entertainment, the Zuiderpark Holiday Park is already halfway through. Every year in the summer holidays, the theatre island of the Zuiderpark Theatre transforms into a playful festival site with daily changing programmes. Still until 22 August, this year's Holiday Park is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Of course, there is still a lot to discover and experience from crafts at Els, Fré, Paula or Museumlab, to a sports day, rubber dinghy sailing, toddler dance and excursion to the Farmer's Village. We tip off a few programme elements. For the daily programme, go to zuiderparktheater.nl/vakantiepark.

Playing with light

With Self Spot, Marieke van der Burg puts on a unique art installation from 13 to 15 August. You shine a torch on a kitchen, revealing shadows of objects within the frame of the spotlight. Soon the shadows start to come alive. Each object has its own character traits, emotions and feelings, just like us.

Reading aloud in other languages

Every morning, the Hague Library reads from the most beautiful children's books. After a reading session in Dutch, there is another language 1 day a week. On 6 August this will be Polish, on 13 August Runyankore (language of Southern Uganda), on 20 August Arabic, 21 August Spanish and 22 August Kiswahili (East African).

Cycle your painting

Creating a painting while cycling? You can do it next week at a cool installation we are presenting with the Tour de Femmes. Get on the commuter pedals, pedal around, add some paint and tadaa your painting is ready in minutes! Part of the city's programme announcing the Tour de France for women, which goes right through the park on Monday 12 August.

The Circus Farmers play Circus Meerfout

The circus brothers have done it again: the masts are level, the tent is stretched and the flag flies in the wind. One of them sweeps the arena and the other makes sure all the performers are there on time. The show can begin! At least that was the intention, but one of the brothers forgot something.... The Circus Brothers is a real family show! This unique show consists of a sequence of dazzling circus acts. To be seen and experienced on Thursday 8 September.
