Celebrate the summer with Jong Metropole! In 2024, the Young Metropole will once again go on a summer tour! For this edition, they have the pleasure of welcoming conductor Jacomo Bairos as guest leader of their orchestra. With Bairos at the helm, Jong Metropole takes a dive into the rich Brazilian musical tradition. This music, akin to jazz, with its lively rhythms is the central theme of a swinging evening!

Traditionally, the new composition of the winner of the Rogier van Otterloo Award 2023 will also be premiered. Winner Camiel Jansen wrote especially for Jong Metropole. Bram van de Glind, winner of the Keep an Eye Outstanding Talent Award in 2019, will perform during the NJON's Muziekzomer Gelderland 2024 as young artist in residence as well as soloist in Camiel Jansen's composition.

About the orchestra:
Jong Metropole is a collaboration between the National Youth Orchestras of the Netherlands (NJON), the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NJJO) and the Metropole Orchestra (MO) and is composed of the best musicians from the Dutch conservatoires. In this orchestra, young talented musicians from the classical and jazz worlds find each other in a unique orchestra that brings both worlds together. Young Metropole was founded in 2015.
