Zuiderpark Live's summer programme is taking shape. Today, with Zuiderpark Live, we announce you two new names! On Saturday 18 May, the famous 80s band The Waterboys will return. In the open air of our summer theatre, The Whole Of The Moon will resound! On Thursday 11 July, talented songwriter/singer Birdy flies in from the UK. After her famous fragile songs that ensured her worldwide breakthrough, she has launched an energetic new album in 2023! Sales start as Friday at 10am via southparklive.co.uk |
THE WATERBOYS Frontman Mike Scott is considered one of the best British songwriters of the past 40 years: famous artists such as Ellie Goulding, Rod Stewart and Prince covered songs by the now 61-year-old legend. The Waterboys caused a furore back in the 1980s with world hit 'The Whole Of The Moon', taken from the successful album 'This Is The Sea'. The mix of country, gospel and Irish folk made the men's music groundbreaking and distinctive. Scott then went solo in the early 1990s, but he resumed playing under the name The Waterboys after the turn of the millennium. On Saturday 18 May, he kicks off the Zuiderpark Live season off with an opening concert! |
BIRDY Birdy is an indispensable draw as a live artist. Her stage portfolio by now includes three sold-out nights at Sydney Opera House, two nights at London's Eventim Apollo and several world tours. She also shone as headliner at Glastonbury Festival. Her new album is energetic and confident. The only 27-year-old singer broke through worldwide with Skinny Love and People Help The People. She put her fragile and timeless songwriting style before her new album Portraits aside. Expect a stream of energy, exuberant and with flashbacks to the 80s. To be seen on Thursday 11 July at our theatre! |
