Today, after a week of uncertainty, Zuiderparktheater did not receive an exemption from the Municipality of The Hague and the Haaglanden Safety Region to continue the planned performances with more than 40 people. Harrie Jekkers' performances on 15, 16 and 17 October can therefore not take place. Festerfest, an underground music festival, had already been cancelled.

Ariane Aris, theatre director: "We are very dismayed by the news we received this morning. We understand that measures have been tightened up to prevent infections but we do not understand the consideration to exclude our theatre. We have not been given any explanation on this either. We are, nota bene, an open-air theatre! We have proven over the past months that we can organise very safe performances, there has never been a corona attack linked to a visit to our theatre! Besides, indoor theatres and venues with less capacity are allowed to welcome visitors. In addition, we regret having to disappoint Harrie Jekkers' fans for the third time, after a tightened quarantine obligation and Harrie's stay in Ibiza, then an accident in which he was injured, this throws a spanner in the works for the third time. The cancellation not only brings a lot of work to our team, but costs have already been incurred. We will refund visitors for their purchased tickets though, they have since been notified."
