South Park Theatre's summer programme has taken more shape in recent weeks. Nine new performances have been added to the programme and one performance has been rebooked. There is plenty of space in the outdoor theatre, making it the perfect place for young and old to enjoy a wide range of culture. From musical to Nederpop and Argentine tango to rousing Klezmer music. The theatre also celebrates its fifth anniversary.
Biggest musical stars and youngest theatre producer
The first addition is the Musical Summer Concert with Esmee Dekker, Nienke Latten, Elindo Avastia, David van den Tempel and musical director Billy Maluw. The finest musical hits from Les Misérables, Wicked, My Fair Lady, Evita, Mamma Mia and Aladin, among others, will be performed for an hour and a half. Produced by 19-year-old Nathan Markuszower, the Netherlands' youngest theatre producer.
Musical youth performances
Two musical youth performances are scheduled on Sundays 16 and 23 August. In Ali & Nino centres on the friendship between an Eastern boy and Western girl, and the fusion of culture takes on sound with jazz music. Boss in the Forest makes children from 5 years onwards reflect playfully on the changing nature and nature in their own environment. Performances that go down well in the nature of the Zuiderpark and Escamp district! The performance Miffy on a Bicycle has been rebooked due to great success to take place on Wednesday 19 August at 4pm.
BuitenUIT! in the Zuiderpark
The Hague Uitfestival has a different shape this year due to circumstances, of course. Zuiderparktheater is therefore opening the gate wide at OUTUIT! Locals can get acquainted with dance, percussion, sports and art in the Zuiderpark in an accessible way. For and by the neighbourhood. On Sunday 6 September from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
5 years of Zuiderpark Theatre
On Friday 11 September, the theatre will celebrate its fifth anniversary and loyal visitors, fans and volunteers will be treated to a full evening's entertainment. With a variety of acts, we will pass by highlights from past years, but also draw attention to preserving our theatre in the future. Programme and tickets will be online soon.
Lockdown orchestra plays live for the first time
Klezkopf, New Klez Collectif, The Quarantine Orchestra & City Orchestra The Residents present on Saturday 12 September Lockdown Live! A festive and dazzling finale to lockdown performances focusing on klezmer music. Apart from solo performances, the participating musicians of 'The Quarantine Orchestra' will play a new song for the first time and live.
Argentine tango with Carel Kraayenhof
Carel Kraayenhof, the Netherlands' best-known band soloist, is coming to Zuiderparktheater on Saturday 19 September. Together with Argentinian pianist Juan Pablo Dobal, he will perform twice the show 'Silly time / Tiempo Loco'. The stirring Argentine tango music invites you to leave your mobile at home for an afternoon/evening and get lost in the moment.
Frontman NITS solo
The latest addition to the programme is a solo performance by Robert Jan Stips, frontman of the NITS with his music concert RJSOLO. A wizard of Dutch pop, he has been in the business for 50 years and presents an evening programme full of surprises based on request songs.
