Latin in the Park is back! On Friday, 5 July, we kick off with a trip to Venezuela!
A full evening programme full of Latin live music and plenty of room to dance. For the support act, Venezuelan artist Gabo Notario will be our guest. For the main programme, Gerardo Rosales returns and plays this evening together with the Venezuelan Masters Orchestra & Orlando Watussi. The feet can be off the floor as there is a large dance floor on stage. There are also cosy seating areas and, of course, ice-cold drinks to cool down with.
Buy your tickets á €20,- p.p. in presale, or €22,50 on the day itself. Box office is open - if not sold out - until 20:45. For Ooiervaar pass holders, it is €9.50.

Gerardo Rosales & Venezuelan Masters Orchestra
Especially this evening, a tribute to 60-year-old bandleader and percussionist Gerardo Rosales. Born on 6 July 1964 in Caracas, Venezuela, he played with famous Latin jazz artists such as Paquito D'Rivera, Bebo Valdés and Oscar D'Leon. His orchestra's sound is based on legendary records from the 1960s and 1970s. Gerardo Rosales has lived in the Netherlands for thirty years and has played with the cream of Dutch Latin and jazz, including Lilian Vieira, Maite Hontelé, Denise Jannah, Izaline Calister, Metropole Orchestra, Lucas van Merwijk & Cubop City Big Band, The Rosenberg Trio, Benjamin Herman and New Cool Collective. He has already made more than 20 albums under his own name, including the 2023 release 'La Vintage'. This evening, he plays with the Venezuelan Masters Orchestra.
Orlando Watussi
Orlando José Castillo Watussi was born in 1949 in Marin, Venezuela and commutes between Italy and Venezuela. He has been a singer, arranger and composer in the world of salsa and jazz for 4 decades.
Watussi began musically in 1969 with the group Los Excitantes de Alexis Monterola, later known as the Sexteto Monterola. Watussi then joined Príncipe y su Sexteto in 1971 to succeed Cheché Mendoza's Los Satélites and from there to the Porfi Jiménez Orchestra. Founder and director of La Renovación, he would be part of Federico y su Combo Latino until he concluded his career in Venezuela with a short stint with La Salsa Mayor.
Gabo Notario
Gabo Notario is the stage name of Gabriel Notario Lozada(1997). Born in Los Manires, Yaracuy, Venezuela and currently living in Hoofddorp. As the youngest generation, he brings traditional music from Latin America in a new guise. He attracts a lot of interest through his social media. https://www.instagram.com/gabomusicnl/
About Latin The Hague
Latin The Hague is a young, Hague-based events organisation run by Daniël Patanduk and Rischell Dhanpal. They aim to organise Latin dance and music culture events in The Hague and its surroundings. They are events that are low-threshold and accessible. Everyone is welcome, can join in and enjoy Latin dance and music. This summer, Latin the Hague takes you on a journey through Latin America with no fewer than two editions of Latin in the Park.
Tip: There will also be an edition of Latin in the Park on Friday 2 August, when the theme will be Colombia!
