Zuiderpark Holiday Park already attracts 3,000 visitors Open Air Theatre also offers diverse programme in September

Over the past four weeks, the Zuiderpark Theatre has welcomed nearly 3,000 visitors on the Holiday Park Days. Young and old visibly enjoyed the holiday feeling on the theatre island in the Zuiderpark. City dwellers from Moerwijk to Statenkwartier knew how to find their way to the free open-air programme. Always changing with reading aloud, crafts but also wacky installations, TikTok workshops and performances. For the next two weeks, there is still plenty to do on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The open-air theatre also offers a programme throughout September. The agenda is now online at www.zuiderparktheater.nl

Holiday park
A super moon, dream workshop, hamster wheel, cooking workshop, ukkie concert and banging percussion concert. In fact, every day is different and there is always something new to experience at the Holiday Park.  With the summer programme, the Zuiderparktheater foundation aimed to create a place for Hague residents to spend the summer. "That absolutely succeeded,'' says Annemarie de Bruijn, responsible for the programme. "Many visited the open-air theatre for the first time. It is a very special place in the city. One mother even said, "There is no place where my children enjoy themselves for so long. I don't have a garden myself and always have to go out with them in the holidays. Here they can play all day and do fun things." She was so incredibly grateful to everyone who made this possible."

September programme
In September, the open-air theatre will also remain open. The programme in that month includes five different children's performances on Wednesday afternoons. These include a musical journey with Jeritza Toney, puppet play Tarzan, storytelling performance Stories of King Monkey, André the Astronaut and Kikker sings and reads aloud. During the UITfestival, there are two performances in collaboration with the Stork Pass including young comedian Ryan Panday. On Saturday 11 September is the bustling De Grote Repair Café day with Repair Kids, Repair Café, mini market including Made in Moerwijk, the bicycle cart of Duurzaam Den Haag (Sustainable The Hague) and ending with a barbecue by the Participation Kitchen. On Friday 24 September, Michael Varekamp performs the swinging jazz concert Miles in the Park and music legend Johnny Cash takes centre stage in an intimate theatre concert by Orkater with Viktor Griffioen.

Practical information
The Zuiderpark Holiday Park is open until Thursday, August 26. On Sunday 29 August, there will be a 16+ The Hague Inside Out open-air cinema to close. The municipality of The Hague and VSBFonds have contributed to the programme. Various organisations and volunteers are cooperating selflessly.
